[1E07] Evaluation of Chemical Durability of Vitrified Waste Forms for Secondary Wastes Generated from Decontamination of Effluents at Fukushima Dai-ichi NPP
Keywords:contaminated water treatment, stable solidification treatment, vitrification, chemical durability, initial glass dissolution rate
Secondary wastes generated from decontamination of effluents at Fukushima Dai-ichi NPP need to be treated to stable waste forms as soon as possible. In the present study several kinds of the simulated wastes were vitrified into stable waste forms with several different glass compositions and solidification conditions. Dissolution tests using Micro-Chanel Flow-Through method were performed for the vitrified wastes, and the initial dissolution rate, r0, at pH9 and 50-90℃ were evaluated as a function of glass composition for selection of optimum vitrification conditions and the evaluation of the overall performance of the vitrified waste.
