[2B05] Effects of Liquid and Vapor on Hydrogen Isotope Separation Using Fuel Cell
Keywords:Isotope separation, Fuel Cell, Separation factor, Deuterium
Hydrogen has two isotopes, which are deuterium and tritium. And hydrogen isotopes are highly valuable as materials in nuclear fusion and various industrial processes. Therefore, it is important to perform hydrogen isotope separation. In this presentation, isotope separation of hydrogen and deuterium was conducted using a fuel cell. Vapor was added to the gas supplied to the fuel cell, and the gas-liquid ratio inside the cell was changed by adjusting the cell temperature. The separation factor was found to change during this process. Furthermore, the separation factor was calculated from the equilibrium conversion ratio and compared with the experimental values.
