[2O10] Study on FPs removal effect on the containment vessel penetrations during a severe accident
(3) Aerosol transport in parallel plate slit chnnels
Keywords:Severe accident, equipment hatches, tongue-and-groove type flange at drywell (D/W), Aerosol, decontamination factor (DF)
Fission products (FPs) from the containment failure sites may be released to the environment through the reactor building in the event of a severe accident. To develop a mechanistic evaluation method for FP release behavior, simulated tests on FP decontamination factor (DF) have been conducted using parallel plate slit test section simulating equipment hatches or tongue-and-groove type flange at drywell (D/W) heads which have the lowest DF among containment penetrations in light water reactors. In this report, we present the basic data obtained.
