In the seismic PRA used for risk assessment of nuclear power plants, simplifying the evaluation of seismic fragility curves for equipment that exists in large numbers in power plants has been an important issue in reducing evaluation costs. In this study, we proposed a simplified method for evaluating seismic fragility curves for equipment installed in nuclear power plant buildings by applying a non-repeatable equivalent linearization method and examined its effectiveness by comparing it with time history nonlinear analysis using several calculation models. The results show that the median value of the seismic fragility curve can be estimated accurately for some calculation models when the period of the equipment is sufficiently smaller than the period of the structure.
