In a reprocessing plant, safety system equipments are shared among multiple tanks in the event of a loss of cooling function. In addition, there are safety system facilities that combine the cooling function and the hydrogen scavenging function. Therefore, there is a possibility of simultaneous occurrence of severe accidents in multiple tanks and of different severe accidents. It is necessary to develop a method that can accurately evaluate the frequency of simultaneous occurrence of multiple tanks and multiple events in order to identify vulnerable points of equipment and operations related to severe accidents by utilizing risk assessment.
This paper, we report a result of confirming the applicability of the Multi-unit Event Combination Approach, for the case of 2 tanks.
