[3G07] A Study of Safety Function Requirements for Deuterium-Tritium Fusion
Keywords:Safety in Design, Fusion Plant, Hazard Identification, Consequence Analysis, Tritium Process
This abstract outlines an approach for formulating the safety design concept of a fusion plant. The study involves the development of a comprehensive process block flow diagram to discern the features of the fusion plant, emphasizing key system components like the fusion reactor, LiPb blanket system, and Tritium fuel cycle system. Hazard scenarios were identified based on this diagram, accompanied by potential safeguards. Preliminary zoning and containment concepts, addressing process isolation and Tritium inventory, were outlined. A case study evaluated consequences of representative hazard scenarios. Subsequently, a risk assessment process and safety function requirement for based on the LiPb blanket system and fuel cycle system were proposed, providing insights to ensure the design safety of the fusion plant.
