Keywords:flexible office space, co-working, shared space, teleworking, intention to use
As people are shifting from traditional offices to other places to work, the number of flexible office spaces (FO) shared with other users with no lease agreement has increased rapidly in recent years. Understanding FO characteristics and effects is necessary for considering future workspaces. This study investigates factors influencing workers to use FO and factors that lead them to hold intentions to use them. Results 1) show that FO is currently being used by people who work in places such as cafes, 2) signify future expanded use of FO in regional areas, and 3) indicate that administrative professionals and non-discretionary workers often have intentions to use FO, but tend to be unable to use them.
