[63] A Study on the Background of the Introduction of Specific Usage Limitation Area and its Potential as a Method of Residential Promotion in Non Area-Divided Cities

This study aims to clarify the factors that enabled the introduction of Specific Usage Limitation Area in Yokote City and Oirase Town. Through interviews, research of related materials, and research using GIS, it appears that the main factor was the establishment of areas where urbanization was allowed to a certain extent, even within Specific Usage Limitation Area, and ensuring that housing was restricted in areas that should be preserved , such as farmland and the natural environment. In addition, the Yokote City case study showed the possibility of using Specific Usage Limitation Areas as a method of guiding residential promotion.
