[P2-29] SSPE in Pre-school Aged Child

Kyaw LINN (Paediatric Neurology Unit, Yangon Children hospital, Myanmar)

A 4 year old boy was brought to our clinic for progressive loss of social interaction and motor skills, noticed since 1 year ago. He had no febrile illness or seizure at the onset and through out of his symptom. Apart from intermittent pause of activity and jerky rise of his right arm, neurological examinations were normal. Pregnancy and delivery were uneventful and had uncomplicated neonatal period. He had normal development and no previous medical diseases. He received only one dose of measle vaccination at 1 year of age. Parents are non-consanguineous and healthy. EEG showed periodic high voltage complexes. Measle immunoglobulin G titer in CSF was positive (> 1:64). His HIV status was negative. Thus, we made a diagnosis of SSPE according to the diagnostic criteria .With our best search of literatures, his age of onset might be the youngest reported age after the advancement of diagnostic tests and establishment of diagnostic criteria. In addition to this fact, he did not have recognized risk factors for early onset of SSPE such as maternal measle or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, concomitant other viral infection, etc.
