[P3-122] Helping caregivers’ Duchene Muscular Dystrophy in the annual meeting day with 5 activities of group support
[Introduction]
Burden and stress in caregivers of chronic progressive incurable illness especially in Duchene Muscular Dystrophy children are common. To help these caregivers cope with the impact is an important role from multidisciplinary team as well as recognizing value of taking care their love children between caregivers.
[Methodology]
The cross-sectional qualitative study of stress in 23 caregivers of DMD children were evaluated by Parent Stress Index short form. From the annual meeting, we provided 5 major activities to encourage DMD children and caregivers to support each other’s. Satisfaction and describing the benefits of these group support were surveyed after finishing the meeting.
[Results]
It shows that 30% these care givers have a significant stress caregivers. Overall satisfaction is 70 % of caregivers from the activities the meeting which are following of these; Disease education (100%), Assistive devices and environment renovation in their houses (80%), Physical rehabilitation (93%), Mind-fullness based psychological group support among caregivers (80%).
[Conclusions]
Caregivers and DMD children are needed in bio-psycho-social support from multidisciplinary team.
