[P3-186] Rasmussen Syndrome: a report of 1 patient and literature review

Jinfen HAN (Department of Pediatrics, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical University, China)

[Objective] To explore the clinical features, diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis and treatment of Rasmussen syndrome.[Methods] A 5-year boy, recurrent convulsion seizures for more than 2 years and the right lower limb movement aggravated for half of a year with cognitive impairment. There was no effect after medical treatment. After the left cerebral hemisphere resection was performed, twitch stopped. This case was analyzed retrospectively, including medical history, physical examination, accessory examination, used drugs, surgical operation and rehabilitation therapy. At the same time, the literature was reviewed. [Results] The patients were diagnosed as Rasmussen syndrome according to their medical history, imaging and laboratory examination. The patients recovered well after surgery and rehabilitation. [Conclusion] Dynamic imaging examination and clinical features are of great significance to the diagnosis of Rasmussen syndrome. All kinds of anti-epilepsy drugs in the treatment of Rasmussen syndrome are not satisfying. Anti-viral therapy, immune therapy and plasma exchange therapy have not achieved a positive effect. Hemispherectomy surgery is currently the most effective treatment, but should be operated as early as possible before damages. Spastic hemiplegia, hemianopia and language disorders might appear after surgery. Postoperative active rehabilitation training can effectively improve the motor dysfunction in patients with Rasmussen syndrome.
