Na Lu (Department of Pediatrics, Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China)

[Objective] To investigate the value of guardians of epilepsy children and analyze the relative factors.
[Method] The guardians of epilepsy children in Wuhan Union hospital, Tongji hospital and children’s hospital of Tongji Medical College of HUST were investigated by questionnaires. The general data is statistical analysis by ratio, the relative factors are statistical analysis by Pearson and Spearman rank correlation.
[Result] In 200 guardians of epilepsy children, male is 93 and female is 107. The higher the educational level of male guardians, the more possibility to read the epilepsy relative books, and more impact on their work; The higher the educational level of female guardians, the better they take care of the children patients and follow the direction of antiepileptic drugs. Female guardians are more likely to see the same doctors during a long disease period, compared to the male guardians. The longer courses of disease, the longer time of taking medicine and more frequently visiting the doctors, the better for the guardians to read epilepsy relative books, take care of the children patients and give them antiepileptic drugs.
[Conclusion] The guardians’ value are influenced by many factors, doctors should understand the guardians’ value, respect their opinion and guide them to set up correct values. When making decision, doctors should consider guardians’ value for best choice.
