[PS9-2A-2] Clinical Characteristic and Surgical Outcome of 23 Patients with Rasmussen’s Encephalitis

Data of 23 patients with Rasmussen Encephalitis with age range from 3-42 years will be presented with clinical features, MRI, PET, EEG, pathology finding and outcome after functional hemispherectomy. The seizure was multiple kinds including absence, atonic complex, partial, simple partial, tonic, atonic and tonic clonic. All patients have epilepsia partials continue. 14 patients have more than one seizures type with 9 patients have one seizure type. The history of febrile seizures reported in 4 patients had functional hemispherectomy, 2 front temporal lesionectomy and one each; temporal lesionectomy or temporal lobectomy. Pathology show chronic inflammation in 9, heterotopia in 3 and gliosis in 1. Seven out of 13 patients who had surgery had seizure freedom and 6 of them had only few seizures per year.
