[R1P-12] Gobelinite and its Ni-analogue from the Nakauri mine, Aichi Prefecture, Japan
Keywords:Ktenasite, gobelinite, Ni-analogue, Nakauri mine, new mineral
Ktenasite-like mineral was found in a boulder from the Nakauri Mine, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, and EPMA analysis revealed that the Zn in ktenasite was replaced by Ni and Co. The Co-analogue of ktenasite was approved in 2018 as a new mineral gobelinite. The present sample found at the Nakauri Mine has an intermediate composition of approximately 1:1 Co:Ni, and shows a compositional range from gobelinite, which is first reported in Japan, to its Ni-analogue, which is an unknown mineral. The latter Ni-analogue of gobelinite has been submitted to IMA-CNMNC as a new mineral (2022-065).
