Hopeite and phosphophyllite are used in the zinc phosphate treatment process for the protection of steel plates in transportation equipment. The purpose of this study is to develop an advanced process and implement it in society by deepening our knowledge of the properties of zinc-containing phosphate minerals that precipitate by changing the coexisting elements. TG-DTA and high-temperature powder XRD measurements were performed on zinc phosphates doped with transition metals to investigate differences in dehydration behavior. XAFS measurement were also performed at KEK-12C.
