[R3-11] Behavior of hydrogenation of FeS at HPHT condition
Keywords:FeS, hydrogenation, high pressure X-ray diffraction, Earth's core
X-ray diffraction measurements of hydrogenation of FeS were conducted at 0-17 GPa, 300-1400 K. Gradual volume expansion by hydrogenation of FeS was observed at 15GPa and 900K. Phase boundary between FeS Ⅲ and FeS Ⅳ was observed at 15-17 GPa and 500-600 K, suggesting that this phase boundary may be located in a higher temperature region than that reported by previous studies. Diffraction pattern of Fe was also observed because of contamination. The amount of hydrogen dissolved in FeS was much smaller than that calculated by the amount of NH3BH3. Hydrogen may also be dissolved in Fe.
