[R4P-04] Formation of Mn oxide nanoparticles catalyzed by nano Fe oxide

The product of Mn oxidation experiments in the presence of hematite and goethite nanoparticles was characterized. In the presence of hematite nanoparticles, the MnOOH nanowires were formed. The size of product MnOOH nanowire increased with increasing particle size of hematite. On the other hand, the MnOOH nanowire was not formed by the goethite catalyzed Mn oxidation. How the electrochemical properties of Fe oxide influence the morphology and structure of product Mn oxide will be discussed.
