[R5-04] Mineralogical study of the Aguas Zarcas meteorite
Keywords:Carbonaceous Chondrite, TCI, SEM, EDS
Aguas Zarcas, classified as a CM2 chondrite, has been reported to contain multiple lithologies, and the presence of a metal-rich lithology not common in CM chondrites suggests that the parent body of Aguas Zarcas was formed by collision with the CR chondrite parent body. In this study, we found that Aguas Zarcas contains a previously unreported lithology. We also show that lithologies resembling the metal-rich lithology may be weakly altered CM chondrite lithologies, implying that the Aguas Zarcas parent body contained more diverse lithologies than ever considered.
