Itoigawa City is a jade producing area. Rocks similar to jade include rodingite and listvenite, and it is important to identify these rocks in the rock identification conducted at the Fossa Magna Museum. In this study, 65 rocks including rhodine collected from the coast of Itoigawa City were analyzed by the XRD of the Niigata University. As a result, the rocks identified as rodingite in the stone appraisal were found to be composed of minerals such as prehnite, diopside, vesuvianite, and grossular.
