Keywords:Gabbro, Talc, Metasomatism, Fault

High-speed frictional experiments and natural examples suggest that the presence of talc in fault reduces the frictional strength of the fault surface and causes aseismic creep (Moore and Rymer, 2007, Moore and Lockner, 2011 etc.). In this study, we discovered the fault whose fault surface is composed of talc in Sasaguri region, Fukuoka prefecture. The purpose of this study is to clarify the faulting process and frictional characteristics. This study is expected to provide new insights into the faulting process accompanied with talc concentration.
