[R8P-01] Rutile exsolution lamella of garnet in quartz eclogite from the Sanbagawa Belt Gongen Mountain, central Shikoku, Japan

Needle-like inclusions were discovered in garnets of quartz eclogite from the Gongen Mountain of the Sanbagawa belt in the high-pressure metamorphic condition, and were identified as rutile exsolution lamella by the results of Raman analysis and their regular arrangement. The rutile exsolution lamellae in garnet have been discussed in natural/synthetic-experiments under Ultra high-pressure conditions. It suggests that rutile exsolution lamella in garnet can form in high-pressure condition, and that they might be a new indicator to constrain metamorphic pressure.
