In this study, we report on serpentinization processes in the Fizh mantle section of the Oman Ophiolite. Lizardite is universally present in all samples. However, talc, tremolite, antigorite, and chlorite coexist with lizardite mesh or veins and magnetite in some samples. Talc and tremolite are frequently occur in the vicinity of the antigorite veins. The major elemental composition of talc indicates that it is mixed to varying degrees with serpentine and chlorite. Iron-rich olivine is also present adjacent to talc. Three possibilities for their formation are discussed.
