Chairperson
If you cannot attend due to illness, please contact the commentators with the conference organizing committee (jasidjahss2024@gmail.com) copied in. Please make the necessary arrangements within the session, such as asking commentators to take over the chairperson’s role, etc.
4. Kids’ Space and Childcare Support
(1) Kids' Space (Rest Area for Parents with Children)
In order to facilitate the effective participation of members with diverse backgrounds and needs in our research activities, we welcome parents to bring their children to the session venue.
Please be mindful of your actions to ensure minimal disruption to the presentation or discussion.
To facilitate the participation of JASID/JAHSS members who are raising children, we will provide a room designated as a kids' space (rest area for parents with children). This space will allow parents to breastfeed, change diapers, babysit, eat, take a nap, and engage in other activities. Please note that the JASID/JAHSS and the venue facilities will not be held liable for any accidents that occur in the kids’ space.
At the conference venue, Hosei University Ichigaya Campus (on the morning of 9 November and throughout the day on 10 November), a classroom will be accessible as a kids’ space, and at the JICA Ogata Sadako Research Institute for Peace and Development (on the afternoon of 9 November), a nursery room will be available as the kids’ space. Please note that there will be no childcare staff on site.
Consequently, users will be responsible for managing the room themselves and can use it freely for activities such as napping and breastfeeding. Please note that you will be required to bring your napping mat, toys, etc. There is no need to apply in advance, and you can use the facilities freely on the day. Please refer to the conference program for the location of the kids’ space at each venue.
(2) Childcare Subsidy System
A childcare subsidy system is available for members who require childcare/nursery services to attend the conference. The subsidy is up to 5,000 yen per member per conference. Please note that it is the responsibility of the applicant to make their own arrangements for applying to and contacting childcare facilities. Should you wish to apply for this subsidy, please contact the conference organizing committee by 5 November (jasidjahss2024@gmail.com).
This subsidy is available to members of both JASID and JAHSS. Please ensure you receive a receipt from the childcare facility by the day of the conference and submit it to the conference reception. Please notify us if you cannot submit it on the day.
A subsidy of up to 5,000 yen will be transferred to your bank account later. Please be advised that only the first ten members to apply will be eligible for this subsidy. Please note that the deadline for applications is 5 November. We therefore request that you submit your application as soon as possible.
