Greetings
President of the 39th Japan-Korea Urological Congress
Hiroyuki Nishiyama, M.D., Ph.D
Professor, Department of Urology, Institute of Medicine, University of Tsukuba, Japan
Dear Friends and Colleagues of Korea and Japan,
I am honored to host the 39th Japan-Korea Urological Congress at Tsukuba, Ibaraki, Japan on October 27 (Fri) and 28 (Sat) 2023.
Since the first Congress held by Dr. Ishigami, at Kobe, Japan in 1984, this annual international congress has played an important role as a forum for exchange among participants, especially young Korean and Japanese urologists. Korean and Japanese urologists have developed a close relationship between each other through this congress, while various other conferences for exchange in East-asia/Pan-pacific area including Korea and Japan have been held recently such as UAA, EAUOS, APPS, PPCS, EASE, and so on. The role of this congress will be succeeded to them, and the active members of this congress have decided to make the next 40th in Korea the final congress.
This 39th congress will be the last one to be held in Japan. Therefore, we appreciate lots of urologists join this conference and discuss about the future of urology in Korea and Japan. Tsukuba is a science city with various research centers, and we have planned Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency tour for participants. Mt. Tsukuba is a beautiful mountain nicknamed "Fuji in the west, Tsukuba in the east" since long ago, and can be climbed by cable car. Foods, in particular, hitachi beef, monkfish, buckwheat noodles (Soba), and sweets are delicious.
Welcome to Tsukuba and let’s deepen exchange between Korea and Japan for the future.
