[HCG25-P02] Elucidation of the relationship between topographical features, location, and geological features of fishing ports and coastal villages
Keywords:fishing port, coastal villages, geology
People live by making good use of the natural terrain. We considered that the coastal villages in the San'in Kaigan Geopark Area also use the natural terrain, and categorized the relationship between the terrain around the coastal villages and background of the coastal villages.
The San'in Kaigan Geopark is divided into Tango Peninsula Area (marine terrace and rocky coast with advanced erosion, partly Rias coast), Tajima coastal Area (Rias coast), and eastern Tottori Area (rocky coast with advanced erosion). We paid attention to the coast of Kyotango City, unlike the Rias coast, has a well-developed marine terrace where natural inlets are difficult to form.
Then, the factors that formed the topography and the background of its use as a fishing port will be clarified. As a result of investigating the geology and topography of the place where the fishing port is located on Tango Peninsula (Kyotango City),6fishing ports have been used the naturally formed bay-like terrain, and5of them had rocky terrain.Among them, andesite and sedimentary rocks were confirmed in all fishing ports. It was found that andesite is distributed especially in the place where it protrudes like a cape.
