[HTT16-P16] Metal element isotope analysis for Environmental Reference Materials

*Ki-Cheol Shin1 (1.Research Institute for Humanity and Nature)

Keywords:Reference materials, metal element, isotope analysis

In recent years, the development of analytical technics has made it possible to detect a limited variation of stable isotope ratios in metal elements. After that, many researchers had challenged and produced excellent results in this field, but the supply of primary reference materials for isotope measurement is limited.

To promote a stable isotope study related to the environmental research fields, RIHN has carried out high-precision isotope analysis using MC-ICP-MS for relatively abundant secondary environmental reference materials (ERMs).

For this research, I purchased 30 types of ERMs from NIST (National Institute of standard and technology, U.S.), JRC (European Commission's Joint Research Centre), and NMIJ(National Metrology Institute of Japan). These materials are not for isotopic analysis but certification of metal element concentration.

This presentation reports a data set of Mg-Zn-Fe stable isotope values and Sr-Pb-Nd radiogenic isotope ratios. This data set is a final version of earlier reports related to the isotopic analysis of environmental reference materials.
