[MGI32-P01] Developments of a new ocean data networking system for coastal ocean data sharing, and satellite data management system for Integrated Priority Study in AOGEO
Keywords:GEO, AOGEO, data utilization
For contributing to the Asia-Oceania Group on Earth Observation (AOGEO) activities from the Ocean, Coasts and Islands (OCI) Task, new ocean data networking system for coastal ocean data sharing has been developing by using Geonetworks (open source, https://geonetwork-opensource.org/). This system allows all users visiting one site to jump to other sites by using the data-portal based on Geonetworks. The demonstration system was developed in 2019 by JAMSTEC and CSIRO, and it has been expanding to few Asian countries after the technology exchange session of OCI Task in February 2021. This new approach will bring us a new opportunity to use coastal data, which are not well accessed from a third party.
For contributing the Integrated Priority Study (IPS) of the AOGEO regional activity, we also have developed the demonstration system of Open Data Cube (ODC) to manage the satellite data (ALOS and ALOS-2) and satellite-based products. In the framework of IPS, Japan as well as Australia, China and Korea will develop own ODC system to be able to distribute each own satellite and satellite-based products. As the ODC will be able to provide Python Notebook/Hub for users to run demonstration codes and to develop own codes of python by using datasets from products provided by each country. We will report the update of preparations of ODC system in Japan and will show the preliminary plots and demonstration.
From the two presentations, any comments on these developments are welcomed.
