I continue to make research on lady earth scientists in Japan. Before the war, Marie Stopes (1880-1958) and Kono Yasui (1880-1971) studied the fossils from Japan coal field. Yasui got doctoral degree in 1927 from the University of Tokyo. This is the first doctoral degree of science that Japanese lady got.
In 1943 three ladies, Takayo Fujiwara, Tami Inoue, and Mitsu Inoue, attended the annual meeting of the Geological Society of Japan. Only Fujiwara continued the science carria. She got doctoral degree from Hokkaido University in 1961 and award from JGS in 1968.
