[O07-P13] Examination of the fall position by the light emission of the Narashino meteorite fireball
Keywords:Narashino meteorite fireball, The location of the fall
At 2:32 a.m. on July 2, 2020, a fireball was observed flowing from west to east over the Kanto region. The fireball turned out to be a meteorite that had fallen in Narashino City, Chiba Prefecture. We conducted this research based on the video taken at our school.
We identified the trajectory of the fireball and the latitude, longitude, and altitude of the start and end points of its emission from it, and then examined the location of the fall.
As a result, we found that the fireball continued to fall while being subjected to physical factors, and fell in a parabolic motion after the emission ended. The total horizontal distance traveled by the fireball was close to the linear distance between the start of the emission and Narashino City. In other words, we found that the the location of the fall of the fireball can be estimated from the video taken.
