[SGD01-P09] Construction of the gravity observation network in Mount Fuji volcano

*Ryo Honda1 (1.Mount Fuji Research Institute, Yamanashi Prefectural Government)

Keywords:Gravity, Mt. Fuji, Volcano

Mt. Fuji, which is visited by many tourists and hikers, is an active volcano. We are aiming to strengthen the observation of the volcano and information sharing system in order to realize smooth evacuation in case of eruption. In particular, the 5th station of the Subaru Line toll road is always crowded, and the evacuation is an issue. Since there is a possibility that magma with low viscosity will rise quietly on Mt. Fuji, we are working on gravity observation that can directly observe mass transfer. We have installed a reference gravity station at our laboratory at the foot of the mountain, and in addition, we plan to set observation points around the 4th and 5th stations across the area where craters are expected to appear. Ultimately, we are aiming to build an observation network by continuous observation at multiple points. We will present about the effects of rainfall that have been seen from continuous observations at the reference point and round-trip observations with the 5th station. We also report about tests of observation equipment for the hillside points, and ideas to ensure the accuracy of continuous observation data.
