The purpose of this presentation is to clarify the overview and issue of global-earth education in the compulsory subject "geography" in high school."Geography" can be said to be a subject that provides earth education that includes global citizenship education. While aiming for earth education from global perspective, it is also a subject that should foster awareness as citizen under nation of Japan. Teachers who teach "Geography" will be required the balance with global-earth citizenship education based on global natural phenomena, and global education based on tha country or identity of nation will be required. Training teachers who teach "Geography" is an one of urgent issues.
