[G04-P02] A Discussion on the Construction and Operation of Disaster Educational Content Servers for Different Types of Educational Institutions
Keywords: information and systems in education, online education
To help control the pandemic spread of COVID-19, online education has been implemented at the elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, and university levels. Most of the institutions seemed to use platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom, which provide online classrooms that can facilitate both the presentation of material by educators and communication among students. The tools and services for education on such platforms, however, are restricted to a small area due to institutional subscriptions. In the case of education for learners belonging to different institutions, an original content server needs to be constructed. The construction and operation of a web server requires both monetary investment and technical knowledge, both of which are likely to impose a burden on institutions and educators. In this study, problems in constructing and/or operating content servers by educators will be discussed and compared with outsourcing alternatives.
