Supported Pd catalyst is the heterogeneous catalyst for dechlorination of chlorofluoroalkene by hydrogen gas. We have found that Pd-based intermetallic compounds give the dechlorination product in high yield as compared to that over the monometallic Pd catalyst. In this study, to clarify the factor of the increase in the dechlorination product yield, correlation between the second metals of the intermetallic compound catalysts and those catalytic properties was investigated. Additionally, the reaction mechanism was discussed based on the kinetic experiment and the IR measurement using CO as the probe molecule.
