The authors focus on hydrothermal decomposition, which is used in various fields as an organic matter decomposition technology, and propose a recovery technology for aged bitumen. According to this study, bitumen after hydrothermal decomposition with a reaction temperature of 350 to 360 °C and areaction time of about 15 minutes showed a significant recovery of physical properties. From the chemical properties, it was confirmed that the degree of oxidation did not decrease by the conventional regeneration method. From the dynamic viscoelasticity, the possibility of using it as a regenerated and heated asphalt mixture was confirmed.
