[1C14] Development of a visible-light driven CO2 reduction system by combining a biocatalyst and CuInS2 photocathode
One of the effective CO2 utilizations is to reduce CO2 to a high energy substance (such as HCOOH, CO) by using semiconductor photoelectrodes. However, it is desired to develop CO2 reduction a system with high selectivity because the water reduction proceeds preferentially rather than the CO2 reduction in an aqueous solution. In this study, we attempted to construct a visible-light driven CO2 reduction system by combining a biocatalyst (formate dehydrogenase from Candida boidinii; FDH) capable of selective CO2 reduction to formate and CuInS2 photocathode.
