[2E17] Investigation on acid wormholing in carbonate reservoirs
Matrix acidizing is one of the most popular well stimulation techniques in oil and gas developments. It has been reported from many carbonate reservoirs around the world that high-rate matrix acidizing treatments create highly conductive flow paths called wormholes, which can significantly improve the well productivity/injectivity. In this presentation, we discuss fundamental mechanisms of wormhole formation and growth based on experimental and numerical study results.
