Efficient and low-cost catalysts are required for hydrogen production from ammonia as a carbon-free energy carrier. We have previously reported that nitrogen-containing materials (e.g. CaNH and CeN ) significantly enhance the ammonia decomposition activity of Ni catalyst, while these compounds are unstable in the presence of water or air, which is serious drawback for practical application. In this study, we report a water-durable BaTiO3-xNyHz with a hexagonal structure as a support of Ni catalyst for ammonia decomposition.
