[2C15] Direct oxidation of methane into formaldehyde over metal phosphate catalysts
Keywords:metal phosphate, methane, formaldehyde
Herein, we report the direct oxidation of methane into formaldehyde over metal phosphate catalysts including iron and bismuth as active species. Metal phosphate nanoparticles synthesized by the sol-gel method using malic acid or the reaction in an organic solvent have higher surface areas than those of conventional methods and function as efficient catalysts with high methane oxidation activity and formaldehyde selectivity. Reaction mechanism are also discussed based on kinetics, IR measurement using probe molecules adsorption, and pulse reaction experiments.
