Pre-add saturated fatty acid prior to active metal addition improved hydrodesulfurization activity. The improvement was about 1.1 times more active than non-added catalyst. The MoS2 structure of pre-add catalysts were shorter than non-added one. It means the dispersion of active metals were more uniformly by pre-add saturated fatty acid.
