[2E10] [Invited] Catalytic pyrolysis of polyolefin towards combination with petroleum refinery

We are working on catalyst and process development for polyolefin pyrolysis as a part of NEDO's innovative plastic resource recycling process technology development project. When combined it with petroleum refinery, the hydrocarbon mixture in the refinery flow can be used as a solvent, which suppresses sequential reactions and increases the selectivity of useful components, and low cracking products are converted into useful components by FCC. Here we introduce the influences of catalyst, solvent, polyolefin composition, unavoidable contaminants such as vinyl chloride etc., and future issues.
