Ammonia is an important starting material for fertilizers. In the traditional method, Haber-Bosch method is used to produce ammonia which is necessary to replace due to environmental concerns. On the other hand, ammonia synthesis from air pollutant, nitrogen oxide (NO) is a promising way to reduce the concentration of NO. Supported Pt or Pd catalysts have been reported for the synthesis of ammonia from NO. Recently, we developed cost-effective (Ni/CeO2) catalyst, but the activity of this catalyst was moderate. In this study, we found that the activity of Ni/CeO2 enhanced by addition of the second metal (Ag).
