[4E1-GS-8-05] Basic study of a Robot that Trains Clinical Psychologists in Intelligence Testing
Keywords:Clinical psychologists, Child type robot, Intelligence test
In recent years, the increasing prevalence of children with developmental disabilities in mainstream classrooms has led to a growing demand for clinical psychologists. In training to administer intelligence tests, practitioners often simulate demonstrations to children or role-play children among adults. However, it is difficult to always secure training subjects is challenging, clinical psychologists are unable to provide sufficient training. Therefore, this study develops a child-type robot (the proposed robot) that is designed to undergo intelligence tests administered by clinical psychologists. The proposed robot is equipped with speech content similar to that of children undergoing intelligence tests. Clinical psychologists are trained in intelligence tests through conversations with the proposed robot. This paper investigates the impressions of clinical psychologists regarding training with the proposed robot. A questionnaire survey of clinical psychologists indicated that training with the proposed robot had favorable impressions of "attractiveness," "efficiency," and "novelty".
