Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is bringing various impacts to Buddhist textual research with the emergence of various applications based on deep learning. This paper first provides an overview of the current status of AI applications in the context of supporting Buddhist textual research. Then, we report on SATed (SAT Digital Scholarly Editing), a solution we are working on as a solution to improve this situation, and how AI can be used in this environment. And we indicate that AI technology has already become an indispensable part of Buddhist textual research.
