[14a-PB7-1] Synthesis of high-crystalline nickel hydroxide nanosheets having large interlayer spacing by a self-assembly process in ethanol solution

Nickel hydroxide (Ni(OH)2) has intensive interests due to their unique layer nanostructure and its promising properties for electronics applications. We succeeded in Ni(OH)2 nanosheets having large interlayer spacing by an easy solution process. They were extremely thin and their size distributions were about 50 to 500 nm. Results of XPS and FT-IR analyses clarified that the nanosheets were Ni(OH)2.It is well-known that Ni(OH)2 has 2 phases (α phase and β phase). However, the Ni(OH)2 synthesized by our method has a deferent phase neither α phase nor β phase.This material should be promising as electronics applications such as a capacitor and a battery material.
