△ [16a-2F-7] Experimental Study on Reflection Phase Rotation of Cavity-resonator-integrated Guided-mode Resonance Filter
Keywords:Wavelength filters,Guided-mode resonance,Waveguide cavities
A cavity-resonator-integrated guided-mode resonance filter (CRIGF) consisting of a grating coupler (GC) between two distributed Bragg reflectors (DBRs) on a waveguide on a transparent substrate has been proposed to provide a narrow-band reflection spectrum for an incident wave of a small diameter from the free space. A CRIGF shows a strong dependence of a reflection phase on a wavelength. A reflection phase variation of 2π, namely, reflection phase rotation, would be very attractive for a high-density packaging of short-cavity lasers because it is expected that a lasing occurs at the resonance wavelength of the CRIGF, regardless of a cavity length. Therefore, it is important to study the feasibility of the phase rotation. In this work, a dependence of the phase variation on a waveguide thickness of CRIGF was discussed with experimental results.
