[16a-4A-3] Double Chemically Anchored Au Nanoparticle Single-electron Transistor

We fabricated a chemically assembled SET consisting of electroless-gold plated nanogap electrodes and the synthesized Au nanoparticle which was chemically anchored on both side of the nanogap electrodes.
Au nanogap electrodes were fabricated by using electron beam lithography (EBL) and electroless gold plating. Hexanethiol and octaneditiol mixed self-assembled monolayers were formed onto the Au nanogap electrodes. Then, dectanethiol protected Au nanoparticles (a core diameter 6.2 nm) were introduced between the Au nanogap electrodes. Electrical measurements were carried out using a semiconductor parameter analyzer under a vacuum at 9 K by a helium refrigerator.
