[6a-A204-10] Ultra-High Power Transistor Using Silicon Solar Cell

Kensho Okamoto1 (1.Photosemicon Labo.)

Keywords:solar cell, distar, diristar

Needless to say, solar cell is a generator that changes light energy to electric energy. At present, so many investigations are performing to improve the energy conversion efficiency and reduce the power generation cost. However, it seems there is no study to utilize solar cell as other than generator. In 2011, the author discovered the fact that a completely new amplifier device was produced by connecting Si solar cell and high-power LED and opposing them each other. The novel amplifier device was named "distar" by him. The distar has an advantage that it easily enables to power up only by use of bigger solar cell and correspondingly increased number of LED pieces. From such a point of view, the author proposes new application of solar cell to ultra-high power transistor.
