The interface between organic molecules and solid materials is strongly correlated to a number of physical and chemical phenomena such as catalysis, carrier transport, friction, and electrochemical reactions. The analysis of the interface structure is important for the development of new physical properties and chemical reactions. However, the analysis of a buried interface is generally difficult; thus, many fundamental processes occurring at the interface are unknown. In this presentation, we will report on our recent progress in the analysis of the interface between organic molecules and solid materials by using FM-AFM in liquid.
