In this study, we fabricated three types of organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) in a bottom gate (BG), a top gate (TG), and a dual gate (DG) configurations by using solution processes for electrode layers and a p-type polymer semiconductor layer. As a result, it was found that the effective mobility with a practical short channel length in a low voltage region is higher in the TG and DG configurations, and the switching characteristics are steeper in the DG configuration. Furthermore, the factors which cause the difference in the device characteristics are clarified by device simulation based on the finite element method.
