Keywords:PID (Potential induced degradation), Analysis, current density

We analyzed the electric field and current inside crystalline Si photovoltaic module when voltage was applied to crystalline Si solar cell for imitating PID. When the insulator is used as back sheet, it was found that current gathered more easily at the cell edge in comparison with the case that the back sheet containing aluminum is used. These results mean that the difference in the material of the back sheet affects the PID tolerance.
